The Portsmouth Harbor Spa offers two types of body wrap, one with a mix of French seaweeds, another with French Rose Clay, each of which offers its own benefits. In addition to offering the client a choice of mud, the Piscataqua Riverside Body Wrap includes a mini facial tailored to the client’s skin type, and offers the client a choice between the use of either a single essential oil or one of our Customizing Complexes for the final, hydrating, step. Each customized mud wrap treatment begins with a body exfoliation, followed by the mud wrap, finishing with a body hydrator. The Wrap treats the entire body, including the hands and feet. A scalp massage is included to induce a sense of overall well being.

Step One: Exfoliation.
Unveil a petal-soft complexion with a uniquely effective and gentle body exfoliant comprising plant amino acids, lactic acid, luffa, micronized buffing beads and apricot powder, which will refine rough, flaky skin without irritation while accelerating epidermal cell renewal, and will replenish moisture with its oils of avocado, jojoba, peach and sunflower.   

Step Two:  The Wrap (two choices)
French Seaweeds.  
Firming:  This potent mix of Fucus Vesiculosis, Laminaria Digitata, Spirulina, Ulva Lactuca, Sea Rocket and Sea Fennel offers an infusion of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, essential fatty acids and mucilages, to stimulate the thyroid, and firm, moisturize and detoxify skin and body.

European Rose Clay.
Hydrating:  Inhale the fragrance of the Provençal countryside as you are surrounded in a richly hydrating cocoon. Soothing Rose Clay from Provence is carefully sun-dried to retain its purity, and infused with powerful source derivatives of deeply hydrating Apricot and Wheat Amino Acids able to penetrate the  epidermis and retain four times their weight in moisture, high potency Beta Glucan, Rosa Centifolia and Alpha Hydroxy Lactic Acid, to provide a multifunctional skin renewing treatment that accelerates epidermal cell renewal, heals, protects, ensures renewed hydration and stimulates the skin's self-protecting mechanism against UVA-induced oxidative stress. The ultimate in refining and extreme hydration, perfectly suited for dry, delicate, weathered or aged skin.

Step Three:  Hydration.  After the client showers, the therapist performs the final hydrating step using shea butter blended with a single essential oil or Custom Cream of the client’s choice.  We offer the following: a custom Detoxifying Cream, which includes rosemary, Echinacea, lemon, and geranium to help stimulate circulation, support the immune system, and ease muscular pain; a custom Green Tea and Lime Cream, an anti-oxidant blend which assists with soothing anxiety and improving circulation; and a custom Milk and Honey Cream, a vitamin, collagen and amino-acid-rich blend which assists with hydration, protection and soothing of the skin.

Step Four: Mini facial.  The facial which accompanies the treatment is an important part of the Piscataqua Riverside Body Wrap. The face is cleansed with a gentle facial cleanser, a masque chosen by the client is applied, and after its removal, a moisturizer or sunscreen is applied and lightly massaged into the décolleté, neck, and face.

Extra glasses of water are recommended in the twenty-four-hour period following this treatment.

Complete Services

Our hot tub is open year-round, and is complimentary to all spa guests; bring bathing suits and sandals - we supply the robes and towels.  All hot tub users are requested to shower off before entering the tub, and all guests are invited to use the Spa's full bath after treatments.

Appointment Cancellation Policy

Please arrive at The Spa at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment to relax and fill out our client information sheet. All information exchanged during our spa sessions will be kept completely confidential. All guests under 18 years of age must arrive with a responsible adult. Arriving late to your scheduled appointment may deprive you of valuable treatment time. All treatments will end on time, as scheduled. A credit card is required to reserve and hold your appointment. As a courtesy to other guests and our therapists, we require 48-hours in advance to rebook or a $25.00 fee. Any guest who does not provide 24-hour cancellation will be charged the full amount of the treatment price. If you have any open skin lesions on the day of your treatment, or if you are ill and think you may be contagious, please call to reschedule your appointment, without penalty. All prices are subject to change. Gift certificates are subject to current prices. Spa hours may vary by season, and unscheduled closings may occur due to bad weather. We will make every reasonable attempt to advise you of such closings as far in advance as possible. Our goal is to make sure every guest has the ultimate experience relaxing in our spa.
